Thinking of Wittgenstein - The Speaking Stone

During last ice-age 10-15.000 years ago, the mountains of Bergen were formed. At that time ice covered Bergen and it‚s surrounding as far as Kvamskogen. Under the ice huge changes took place. The ice was moving forth and back and carving into the underground. When the ice finally withdrew, the mountains were formed and raised up from the sea.

On Saturday the 7th of April 2001 we went to Kvamskogen. The landscape was covered with snow and we continued until we saw a waterfall you could pass behind. We followed the path up along the river until suddenly, in the middle of the stream a different round stone appeared. The stone looked as if it had experienced a lot.

The Speaking Stone presents a dialog between The Speaking Mountains and all the professors they have met. As the professors speeches are transmitted through the stone, they are united with The Speaking Mountains. The differences in their voices become erased and balanced, sounding almost similar.

"we can't say that the mountain has a disorder/inability,
but it has a significant character - it has its own voice"
